Dr. S. Gajendraraj is a distinguished legal academic, administrator, advocate, author and institutional builder, with more than two decades of experience in legal education and academic leadership. He is the Founder Principal of Erode College of Law, where he played a pivotal role in establishing the institution and laying its academic, administrative and professional foundations. He has also served as the Founder Dean of Bharath Law College, contributing extensively to the development and advancement of legal education in Tamil Nadu.

An accomplished scholar with an exceptional academic record, Dr. Gajendraraj holds 22 academic degrees, including 10 qualifications in Law. His legal academic qualifications include B.L., multiple Master's degrees in specialised branches of Law, Ph.D. in Law and the post-doctoral degree of LL.D. His areas of academic specialisation include Labour Law, Contract Law, Criminal Law, Torts, Constitutional Law, Property Law and Intellectual Property Rights. He also holds a Ph.D. in Management and several qualifications in allied disciplines.

His doctoral research in Law focused on Child Labour with special reference to Fireworks Industries in Tamil Nadu, reflecting his longstanding interest in social justice and contemporary legal issues. His academic journey has been marked by a sustained commitment to interdisciplinary scholarship, research and professional legal education.

As an academic leader, Dr. Gajendraraj has been instrumental in institution building, academic programme development, faculty mentoring, curriculum design and research initiatives. As Founder Dean of Bharath Law College, he was involved in developing the institution from its inception and guiding its growth to an institution with a student intake of more than 1,200.

His contribution to legal education extends far beyond institutional administration. He has delivered 550+ guest lectures at reputed universities and institutions, guided 70+ LL.M. dissertations, supervised Ph.D. scholars and conducted numerous national-level seminars, conferences, moot court programmes, workshops and faculty development initiatives.

Dr. Gajendraraj has also made significant contributions to professional legal education and regulatory standards. He has served as a Member of the Bar Council of India Inspection Committees, participating in the inspection and evaluation of law institutions and advising institutions on academic, infrastructural and regulatory requirements. His professional experience includes legal practice before the Madras High Court, other High Courts, tribunals and district courts, with experience in Constitutional, Criminal, Civil, Education and Service Law.

A committed trainer and mentor, he has provided legal training to government officials, including police personnel and drug inspectors, and has delivered motivational and professional development programmes for government organisations, private institutions and educational establishments.

As an author and researcher, Dr. Gajendraraj has authored the bilingual book “Value Added Tax in Tamil Nadu” in English and Tamil. He has also presented research papers at several reputed universities and contributed scholarly articles to journals, conference proceedings and academic publications. His academic engagements have included contemporary areas such as Cyber Law, Artificial Intelligence and Law, Blockchain and Digital Evidence.
