
The Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) of Erode College of Law, Erode, is constituted to ensure a safe, secure, inclusive, and gender-sensitive environment for all students, teaching faculty, non-teaching staff, and other members of the institution. The Committee is committed to preventing and addressing incidents of sexual harassment and promoting an atmosphere of mutual respect, dignity, and equality within the college campus.
The Committee functions in accordance with the provisions of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013, the UGC (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal of Sexual Harassment of Women Employees and Students in Higher Educational Institutions) Regulations, 2015, and the principles laid down by the Vishaka Guidelines.
OBJECTIVES

Prevent and prohibit all forms of sexual harassment within the college campus.

Provide a safe, secure, respectful, and gender-sensitive environment for students, faculty, and staff.

Receive, examine, and redress complaints relating to sexual harassment in a fair, impartial, and time-bound manner.

Protect the dignity, privacy, and rights of all individuals involved during the complaint process.

Recommend appropriate disciplinary and corrective measures in accordance with the applicable laws and institutional regulations.

Promote awareness on gender equality, women's rights, and prevention of sexual harassment through workshops, seminars, and sensitisation programmes.
FUNCTIONS OF THE COMMITTEE

Receives and registers complaints relating to sexual harassment.

Conducts fair, impartial, and confidential inquiries in accordance with the prescribed legal procedure.

Ensures that the principles of natural justice are followed throughout the inquiry process.

Recommends appropriate disciplinary action and remedial measures to the competent authority.

Maintains strict confidentiality regarding complaints, proceedings, and recommendations.

Organises awareness programmes, orientation sessions, and campaigns to educate students and employees on prevention of sexual harassment.

Encourages a culture of mutual respect, equality, and dignity within the institution.

Monitors compliance with the applicable legal provisions and institutional policies relating to prevention of sexual harassment.
