M.A., LL.M(Intellectual Property Rights and Cyber Law)., UGC NET

Mr. Sriram Pradeep Venkatesan holds a B.A. LL.B. from Government Law College, Coimbatore, affiliated with The Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai, an LL.M. from the School of Indian Legal Thought (SILT), Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Kerala, and an M.A. in Criminology and Criminal Justice Administration from Tamil Nadu Open University, Chennai. He qualified the UGC-NET examination in June 2023.

With nearly two years of teaching and academic experience, he is actively engaged in legal education, research, academic administration, and scholarly publishing. He serves as Moot Court Coordinator, Course File and Log Book Incharge, Media Committee Member, and Entrepreneurship Cell Coordinator at Erode College of Law. He formerly served as Associate Editor of the Sai Sindhu International Journal of Research (SSIJR) and currently serves as Associate Editor of the Journal of Cyber Governance and Intellectual Property at Vintage Legal. Mr. Venkatesan successfully completed the UGC-STRIDE (2023) funded programme, Law and Social Transformation: Contemporary Issues, conducted by the Department of Lifelong Learning and Extension, Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam. He actively participates in national and international conferences, seminars, faculty development programmes, and academic workshops.

His teaching expertise includes Intellectual Property Rights, Cyber Law, Constitutional Law, Contract Law, Banking Law, Interpretation of Statutes, Political and Constitutional History of India, and the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023. His research interests include intermediary liability and platform regulation, traditional knowledge protection and bio-prospecting, medical technology regulation and intellectual property, cyber law enforcement and criminal justice, gender justice and bioethics, and constitutional governance.

His scholarly publications include Intermediary Liability: Recent Developments in India (2025), Legal Evolution of Surrogacy in India: Examining Recent Legislative Changes, Their Implications, and Future Outlook (2025), A Historical Analysis of the Indian Constitution's Drafting: From Colonial Legacy to Constitutional Sovereignty (2025), and Nanotechnology Patenting: Legal Aspects and Its Connection with Intellectual Property Rights (2026).

Prior to joining academia, he completed one year of legal internship training in civil and criminal litigation at Ramalingam Advocate Office, Harur, where he gained practical experience in legal research, drafting, client counselling, and courtroom practice. His academic mission is to advance legal scholarship through innovative teaching, interdisciplinary research, and meaningful engagement with the legal profession while fostering ethical, competent, and socially responsible legal professionals.
